The Everlong Salami Sennheiser Minimize

Hi All,

Been a few gigs since I last blogged so I thought it was about time...Gibbo has covered the Harley Rally so I'll start at the Grand Hotel on the 27th Sept. It was going to have to be some gig to live up to the first time we played there!! We weren't dissapointed!! It was a fantastic night, and it was absolutely packed again....thanks to everyone who came, looking forward to seeing you there soon...it was sadly marred by someone complaining about me refusing a booking cos my wife is due to give birth around the date of the requested gig....I don't like turning gigs down, but I'm afraid there was no option here..hopefully she's found a replacement, if in fact she remembers asking!!

Onto the most recent gigs....Friday 10th was a Wedding at Beamish Hall..bit of a rush to get there for 6pm and then we found out we had to load our gear in through a window!! Thankfully no droppage, tho Paul n Gibbo's back's must have been crumbling by the end of the night as they were doing the lifting outside while I lifted the heavy stuff from inside onto the window ledge....nixon helped where he could.....he's got a bad cilla at the mo....and needs his rest....reckon he should buy some lighter gear!! lol The gig itself was great, I think the guests were dancing for pretty much the whole gig ...Paul's insistence on doing Ziggy was the one that got them all to sit down...a class tune, but not for a wedding...oh well. All the best for the future to the Bride and Groom Claire and Michael.

Onto sat night, Benwell Hill Cricket Club...well this was a new one for us..first issue was getting there...SAT NAV's shouldn't be trusted!! and SHAT NAV's should be trusted even less, if not abandoned!! Gibbo, thanks to his SHAT NAV, found himself in darkest Armstrong Road. He rang me to say he was lost, luckily one of the guys in the club directed him out having advised him it's not wise to stop on that road, especially after dark. We had sound problems at the start, something was causing a low feedback to build up...we think it was the monitor...certain asdjustments are to be made to the setup in coming weeks and hopefully this wiill resolve these issues. Onto the gig itself, it seemed to go pretty well until the end of the second half...Gibbo in his interactive wisdom gave the audience a choice of Everlong or Learn to Fly....the biggest cheers came for Everlong...we obliged only for our timing to go all to cock near the end of the song...we all came in at the wrong point just before the last chorus...it was awful!! Luckily we were forgiven and we played out the rest of the set, which everyone seemed to enjoy...reckon we should learn another Foo's one for them next time as they've said we'll be back...which is always good to hear. Thanks for having us, it was a great gig!!

All in all a pretty good weekend, plenty laughs and gaffs. Hope Gibbo got his Salami Sennheiser sorted!!

PS Next gig is the 1st Nov at Sacriston Cricket Club, really good venue, really good crowd. Pop along, just for Chins Crack, if you can make it, it'll be a great night. It'll be good to see TC and his missus hopefully they had a great honeymoon! Segga's got talent should be in, though he's banned from using the mic!!

Tune to see who'll be the victor in this dispute.....Baldy 15-1....or...Chubby 17-4. The syntax war rages on!
