Hi All,
Well, where to start? It's been a good few months since my last blog. In that time We've had a few gigs and have been to see a couple too. Paul blogged about the first one, The Foos, and our inability to stay 'til the end and catch Led Zeplin...think it took a while for us both to get over the shock of that one!! Second one was Iron Maiden at Twickenham.....absolute class, we had a crackin weekend...oh apart from the crash on the way down....not too much damage to the hire car so no worries there!! Think Paul did summat in his pants when they played Revelations...pleased he enjoyed it. Have to say it was probably one of the best gig's I've been too and also one of the nicest days we've had this year...beer and Iron Maiden, what more could i ask for? Answers on a postcard to........
Ok, onto more recent times...well...the Mrs is now 20 weeks pregnant...so only another 20 to go. The little one is due on Jan 1st....crikey...our lass's picture might be in the paper if it's out first on the first....err..anyway, can't wait!!
Just had a week away in Wales, we only had one heavy day of rain, rest of the time it wasn't too bad....don't mind if i don't see inside another castle ruin for a while tho. Highlight was going to Portmeirion, just had to what with The Prisoner being a maiden song n all...what a nice place, but slightly odd...anyway, it's a must if you're down that way.
Last weekend, well...Friday night we were playing a wedding do for one of the lads from Sacriston Cricket Club. It was top class...everyone looked to have had a great day (some more than others Chin!!). We were playing in the hall where the banquets are normally held...high ceilings n that, but the sound was still pretty good. I'd just like to wish Tony and Rachel all the best for the future, thanks for having us there, looking forward to playing the club in November.
Hope none of you's have got shin splints after the way you were jumping up and down during sally cinammon!! BTW, top grub too...hope you didn't mind us having a quick nibble...ooh err!
Onto Saturday night, new venue, Harry's Bar in Thornley. Had a pretty good night, but I couldn't get used to how we sounded....it was so bassy..from the minute Nixon turned his amp on and strummed that, now, illustrious and over loud chord I could feel the bass thumping straight away, dunnon if it was down to the wooden floors or wot, but I spent the night with no bass on my amp whatsoever....normally everything's around 12 o'clock but not here....anyway sound issues aside, everyone we spoke to said they'd enjoyed the evening....even Wayne said he had...but it would have been better had his number come up in Deal or no Deal!
Been in Germany for a few days this week working, flew into Dusseldorf and picked up a hire car for a 2 hour drive to the customers site. Imagine my face when the Citroen C4 I was picking up was surrounded by Porsche's...sick as a chip....but hey, I probably wouldn't fit in one anyway!
Off to Walkworth this weekend and then we play the Cons club in Coundon on BH Monday....no corned beef legs this time...all fixed I hope!! Some friends who are over from New Zealand might pop in to see us too....hope so! Should be a good one.
Well, I'm gonna have me scran now. Take care
Mal
