Where am I? I can't see Minimize

Now that the recovery process is almost complete, I feel I can now try to surmise our recent night out round Crook.

I have NEVER been so wrecked in my entire life, anyone who’s been out on the lash with me before can verify this. I cannot remember a single thing after nine o’clock, so most of the stuff I’m writing is what I’ve been told by others present that night. (actually my ol’ mate Daz from ‘Matrix’ may recall other times, that I don’t recollect)

The initial idea was to go out and watch a band called ‘Young Guns’ , two of which are really cool blokes, really good at what they do, the other two I don’t know at all, and that is exactly what we did. I picked my two mates, Dan and Craig up and headed for Edgey’s house to park the car up for the night, as it was at his house I had arranged to sleep. We got to Edgey’s and Dan and I immediately began taking advantage of the guitars standing idle in his living room, performing a live and exclusive session whilst waiting for Wayne and Cheryl to arrive, which they did soon after and we headed to the Olde Horseshoe, my memory serving me well so far.

Within seconds of entering the pub I had consumed almost half a pint of Kronenburg, as had the other lads, not surprising, considering how hot it was outside. We had loads of good crack, laughs and lager whilst waiting for the band to start. It’s beginning to get hazy from this point.

The bands first half was good, really enjoyed it. Steve’s a good guitarist, and the drumming was solid and visually dynamic. We then (apparently) headed over to the Crown to watch some of Mystery Machine’s set. Don’t ask…I don’t remember!

Back to the Shoe for the second half, I must have liked it as people said I was dancing etc. I just hope the lads weren’t expecting a detailed analysis and review ha ha ha..maybe next time. I guzzled more various alcoholic beverages into the early hours but to my surprise, according to those present, didn’t actually look or seem pissed. How I felt personally was a very different matter since I remember nothing. Anyway, Wayne and Cheryl must have gone for food, so I assume Dan, Craig and I continued to hoy back pints in the beer garden until Cheryl came and collected me, passing me on to Wayne who then practically carried me back to his house (not Edgey’s). There’s video evidence of me somewhere, slumped on Wayne’s couch, hugging a vom bucket, (I didn’t puke, just a precaution), turning down the offer of a glass of bourbon, a sensible move. I then proceeded to fall asleep on the toilet for roughly 3-4 hours before returning to the couch and passing out, ‘hugging Wayne’s legs’…???? I can only go off what I’m told. Ha ha ha.

Next morning I remember (YES I REMEMBER), Wayne stumbling into the living room and playing some death metal on the stereo……words cannot describe the torture….I looked over and noticed Craig curled up into a ball on the chair, I then proceeded to tell him that it was a recliner, he’d been in a foetal position all night! Lol. Cheryl kindly gave me some tablets and water but it still seemed to take forever for me to feel well enough to drive home. I eventually did just that and I’ve only JUST stopped trembling. (Tuesday 13.5.08 ..21: 25, from 10 am Saturday gone).

I feel I truly paid the price for an awesome night on the lash…..NEVER AGAIN!!!…..well….we’ll see.

(I’ve omitted some alleged activities of the evening due to their unbelievable-ness, nice try though)….hope to god they weren’t true!

Still don’t feel right…..
