Well, another blog attempt, since the previous entries that failed to upload, the last one being an absolute mammoth saga, covering numerous gigs and Malcolm’s wedding, which was a great day I might add. So needless to say I’ve been slightly miffed and reluctant to waste time typing anything else, wondering if it will be an exercise in futility.

Anyway, enough whining…..ha ha

We’re back in Coundon this Friday, “Rockin’ The Ox”, hope it goes well because we haven’t really played or rehearsed much lately. A good turn out would be a nice way to open this years gigs, especially since our usual audience in Coundon are an awesome crowd, we’ve had some great gigs there in the past, (in Coundon that is, it’s actually our first time in The Durham Ox). Really looking forward to it, partly because we’ve shuffled our set around a bit, throwing some old stuff back in and playing brand new tunes, freshening it all up a bit.

Our last gig was good, returning once again to Sacriston Cricket Club. We’re starting to get the hang of setting all our rig up in that little corner now, the first time was laughable, climbing all over each other etc. I had to untangle Wayne from Paul before even thinking about the rats nests of cables. It was like a testosterone fuelled game of Twister, only the fun aspect was replaced with perpetual rage, roaring profanity and Mal being one more facial carpet burn off strangling the rest of us with a bright red jack lead. But as ever, the sound was nice and the gig went well. I love playing there!

Wonder what tonight’s rehearsal brings, I have a feeling Wayne may drive home in tears, as a certain song he’s chosen, a great song mind, is proving to be a twat to play and sing. Malcolm may have to don the bass for this one, I WILL persevere though, as Malcolm said this song is like Wayne’s pinnacle tune, his niche no less and I don’t want to be the guy who takes the jam out of his donut, or shits in his slippers, so I’m hoping the aerodynamic one has learned the bass line too……oh….and printed lyrics for us! He’s a guddun (he’s calling me all sorts as he reads this I assure you….he he). The point of the matter is that I can play it fine and sing it fine, but, simultaneously is a mare, anyway, we’ll see how it goes tonight…..and no…I’m not saying what song it is….so stop asking!

Right I’m off to cram in some last minute (and only) practise for tonight……just kidding Wayne, sat reading this grinding his teeth in anger and (potentially) pending disappointment.
