How the hell can ONE e.v. speaker sound like the Newcastle Arena's in house rig? I don't know, but it did. Thats all the guy doing the Disco for the Leeholme gig had, due to the other being damaged....by....erm...someone....?? Sounded astonishing!
The Leeholme gig was tremendous, a great night for everyone there. It would be a good move for whoever concerned to organize another in the not too distant future.
Admittedly I wasn't looking forward to it due to a sore throat and dizzy spells I'd been getting all week before the gig....BUT....I was wrong to worry, as the vocals were on good form as was our performance as a whole. Wayne was throwing in guest BV's again and Paul came up front singing lead vox and playing one chord rhythm guitar on a Clash number...whilst I cunningly perched myself on his trex and sweat soiled drum stool to lay down the beat....I seldom get chance to drum live these days.
Malcolm looked weak with anxiety during this song, watching Pauls cumberland sausage fingers playing his guitar like a Lancaster Bomber flying into Pylon mounted cables. (still....none broken)...thats Mals job!
Feedback was great as was the crowd...........Magic! p.s. ham jelly not good Paul....you filthy fuck!....lol....looked like cum.
Segga-Mega-Jive:
Brilliant gig there as usual....plenty of R.H.Y's due to us climbing over each other with gear, you'd think by now we'd have come up with some sort of game plan after the last two gigs......alas not. Never to mind....we get there in the end. Vocals WERE rough that night...but noone seemed to notice and both spots went down well. (Thanks to Derek Johnson, me mate from work and Mrs. J. for coming).
Cracking night.........AGAIN.........look forward to returning.
The Doxford Reception:
I always worry that we may be a bit diverse for these gigs, I mean playing songs like Paranoid etc. for a wedding isn't normally whats expected ha ha ha ha ha. I'm always keeping in mind that when people book us, they've usually seen us first and we're playing music that they like...full stop. Dave and Sue (forgive me if the names are wrong) were really nice people who were very cooperative. They also made sure we were looked after with food etc. So thanks again guys, all the best and hope to see you's soon. By the way....that curry was awesome!!!! Well worth feeling like an over inflated space hopper for the second half lol.
There's gonna be a few new songs popping up in the sets soon....I'll be looking forward to seeing how they're received...I've been very happy with the response from the recent Killers number.
Right I'm off now to give Paul a beige suprise, gift wrapped in swarfega............Keep it real!
