Latest update from Mallykins
mals blog By mal on 01 August 2009
Well this is the first backdated blog I've ever done.

Approx June the 17th whilst on holiday I looked out over the atlantic ocean from the bar I was standing in and heard "oi baldy are you gonna stay or wat?" It came from my phone, and at the other end were them three on loud speaker at Weatherspyuns in Bish. They were drinking coffee, apart from Nixon of course who was having a pint as coffee in a pub is far too gay!! We decided to give it another go. The rest as they say is.....

Sorry Mark, you NEARLY got in the best band in the North east, but sadly (from your point of view) not to be!

See you all at the Shoe tonight, Gibbos gonna rock your hoggas off. So long as his throats not in a wheelchair!!

Hello All,

It's been a heck of a long while since I made a blog entry. What's been going on? Well, since the turn of the year I've become a Dad, Thomas is 17 weeks old now and is coming on well. In fact he's teething so bless him he's in pain a bit.

Most of you who read this blog will know by now that I'm leaving the band at the end of July...well that's the plan anyway, we'll see how things go. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, given that the last 5 years have been the best I've ever had and these 3 have been a big part of that. Best thing is they're really good mates and long may that side of things continue despite me no longer being their to harrass and abuse on a Gig night! The joined up XLR won't have the same effect anymore :-) I plan on getting back into music of some sort in about a year, just need a bit of time off the concentrate on the Family and the job.

We've played a few good gigs this year so far, the ...

Last gig of the year.
Waynes Blog By Wayne Nixon on Saturday, December 20, 2008

Hi all,

Just played our last gig of the year at The Cleveland Hotel in Redcar last night and was a great night in a top venue, friendly staff as always, Also a big thankyou to everyone who turned out to see us this past 12 months its been a great year for Koncept, last night in particular i stole the crown from mal as champion 'end of night gaffer tape thrower' ....  well going off pauls face when i stotted one off his heed, looked like he'd just twatted his loaf off a cupboard door (yes we've all done it...and it bloody hurts).

Next years diary is also 3/4 full so 2009 is promising to be busy for us, Got some more new venues so ill be looking forward to them, hope to see some familiar faces at those....you know who i mean, (Anne,  Melissa).

Hi All,

Been a few gigs since I last blogged so I thought it was about time...Gibbo has covered the Harley Rally so I'll start at the Grand Hotel on the 27th Sept. It was going to have to be some gig to live up to the first time we played there!! We weren't dissapointed!! It was a fantastic night, and it was absolutely packed again....thanks to everyone who came, looking forward to seeing you there soon...it was sadly marred by someone complaining about me refusing a booking cos my wife is due to give birth around the date of the requested gig....I don't like turning gigs down, but I'm afraid there was no option here..hopefully she's found a replacement, if in fact she remembers asking!!

Onto the most recent gigs....Friday 10th was a Wedding at Beamish Hall..bit of a rush to get there for 6pm and then we found out we had to load our gear in through a window!! Thankfully no droppage, tho Paul n Gibbo's back's must have been crumbling by the end of the night as they ...

Bikes, Booze, boobs and odours
Gibbo's Blog By gibbo on 9/21/2008 4:36 PM

Loaded with cold I cycled home from work utterly devastated that the gig I'd looked forward to all year was going to be ruined by this wonderfully timed poorlyness. I could only pray that overnight it would clear up a little, thus giving my voice some range to cope with our set for the Heart & Soul rally, Gosforth race course, the following evening. Saturday morning I awoke sweltering and staggered, spluttering, into the bathroom, where seeing my own reflection shocked me into almost full consciousness. After nibbling breakfast and guzzling gallons of green tea and honey, I ventured to Nixons gaff, finding him sprawled on the doorstep like a fallen pisshead, when in fact he was just trying to find a comfortable sitting position due to nasty back issues he's been battling with lately. We literally 'stuffed' his laguna with music and camping gear and embarked on our sunshine blessed adventure to Gosforth. We planned to meet the others at Washington ...

Weddings, Wood floors and wet weather
mals blog By mal on 20 August 2008
Hi All,

Well, where to start? It's been a good few months since my last blog. In that time We've had a few gigs and have been to see a couple too. Paul blogged about the first one, The Foos, and our inability to stay 'til the end and catch Led Zeplin...think it took a while for us both to get over the shock of that one!! Second one was Iron Maiden at Twickenham.....absolute class, we had a crackin weekend...oh apart from the crash on the way down....not too much damage to the hire car so no worries there!! Think Paul did summat in his pants when they played Revelations...pleased he enjoyed it. Have to say it was probably one of the best gig's I've been too and also one of the nicest days we've had this year...beer and Iron Maiden, what more could i ask for? Answers on a postcard to........

Ok, onto more recent times...well...the Mrs is now 20 weeks pregnant...so only another 20 to go. The little one is due on Jan 1st....crikey...our lass's picture might be in the ...

The swede that's far from open has landed!
Gibbo's Blog By gibbo on 7/22/2008 6:19 PM

Yes indeed, been a canny weekends gigging for us lot. Felt like we hadn't played live in ages for some strange reason. Friday night saw us back in the Blacksmiths Arms in Gosforth, had many a great gig there and Friday was no exception. The audience were awesome, great communication and feedback etc. Always a pleasure to see our two number 1 groupies as well, Anne (geordie rock chick) and Melissa (g.r.c.jr.). Wonder what all the hullabaloo was about when I pulled up and got out my car. Loads of screaming and clattering gannin' on down one of the nearby alleyways, sounded like a scene from Deathwish 3! Local charvas I suspect, more edge than a cracked piss pot!

Saturday night united us in Sacriston Cricket Club for a teriffic follow up to Gosforth. As on Friday, the turnout was great as was the crowd response. Thanks to Del, Cath, Joan, Arthur and Stevie for trailing out....yet again.. ...

gigs galore
Pauls Blog By Paul on 6/23/2008 7:16 PM
hello friends and fellow members of the pastry appreciation society, its been a while since my last entry pardon the expression if you will! anyway ive got my internet up and running again so blogs will be appearing regularly from now on (not!!) right so whats been happening in my band life latley? well ive been to a couple of top gigs over the last couple of weeks the first one was a trip to wembley stadium (awsome stadium by the way) to see the foo fighters with mal,i was a bit dissapointed overall as we had crappy seats right at the back plus it cost £15 for two 'effin hot dogs! it was either that or the pie & pint deal which was £8! what a rip off.anyway mal and i decided to leave the gig before the encore so we could beat the crowds to the tube station and get back into central london for a couple of beers before closing,so you can imagine our dismay the next morning when one of mal's ex work mates who was at the gig text him to see what we thought when led zep joined the foos on stage for t ...

The right to reply, corned beef hash and the Hulks knuckles!!
mals blog By mal on 27 May 2008
What a weekend, we've had a hospital attendance, legs that look like corned beef, bad backs and even badder drumming (in the crap sense of the word!). Oh and last but not a least a little controversy surrounding my blog from over a month ago, which, at the time, voiced my displeasure at the Durham Ox gig being cancelled.

I'll start with that one first.....well, it was good to get a few comments about this (if not a month too late) but anyway, I'll say my peace and I think we should draw a line under it after that. When we were approached to play the foresters, we did in fact think about the "gig in the same village in the space of 3 days issue" but were assured that on a bank holiday weekend such as this there'd be loads of people out. We had more than enough songs to go round...and would only duplicate a handful over the two gigs as we'd done two set lists especially. I'd like to think we give good variety when we play, if we don't please tell us....we won't know if you don't ...
