Cracking gig at the Travs - Friday 22nd
mals blog By mal on 24 June 2007
Really enjoyed the gig on Friday night. Plenty of vocal support from the audience, one bloke in particular!! My knee held up which is a bonus so bring on the next one!!

Think Gibbo was right about losing weight like!! It was boiling in the room at the travs, and gibbo managed to position himself right in front of the FAN (air circulation device, not a person) that was attempting to cool us all down. We even played Creep which hasn't been in the list for yonks. I think Everlong will always remain a favourite of the bands, but you can tell not many people know it!! may have to be selective when we play that one....500 miles went down a storm, crikey the audience were up for that one!!

I'm in Germnay this week (frankfurt), another training course. Language barrier is a slight problem, but I'll manage. Hope none of my flights are delayed this time on the way home, otherwise it'll be an overnighter in schippol airport.....yipee :-(

Pauls Blog By Paul on 6/20/2007 8:47 PM
at last i have a new job i have finally escaped from my old job which was just so shitty for the last few months, been there for nearly 11 years and have had some good times and made some good mates which does surprise me (people who know darlington folk will know what i mean by that!). anyway me new job is working for balfour beatty and basically im going to be driving round the north east dropping barriers and road signs off for the lads who will be digging the roads up,then going back to pick them up when they are done, may sound boring to you put its a substantial rise in wages from me old job & i get me own van (bonus) just come back from a three day induction course in rugby ( mal gets to go to the u.s.a. for a course i get to go to rugby!) mal said in his blog he thought rugby was a shit hole but it must have changed a bit since he was there cos i thought it was a canny nice place and i had a couple of decent nights out too! anyway on to all things koncept,we had our first gig for a month or so last ...

Hi,

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Friday night!! I seem to remember the last one here being a good'un....hope the turn out is just as good again. Think i might brave playing without a stool (no paul I don't wan't one of yours)!!

Paul's started a new Job this week... I hear he's in Rugby for a few days....wonder if he's worked out it's an absolute s**t hole...well it was when I was there a few years ago. Only good thing is the sign post telling you how to get out!

Wayne's got his Mega Bogie!! Damn, I'm gonna have to make a purchase now....wonder if a new Jim Dunlop Plec could outshine the Mesa??? Hmm perhaps not!!

Wonder if I'll snap a string this week? I thought I was doin ...

Gibbo's Blog By gibbo on 6/13/2007 9:10 PM

S'all quiet on the koncept front at the mo it would seem, but not to worry, got some mint gigs coming up. Thankfully the flu has subsided, and left me with a rattly chest, which should in turn fade soon...i hope. Teeth no longer hurting...thanks Mal......t**t. Played a canny gig in chilton last weekend, wasn't our best gig by any means, felt a little lifeless to me...plus...i think our opener wasn't right....set the balance off from the word gan. Thanks to all who turned out to watch us there though, much appreciated. Also think we may need a praccy before the next gig if pos....buff up some rusty bits n that. nature of the beast with bands etc. If you don't play for ages your mind just goes blank, even if you have played recently as i found out at the Vane arms...forgetting the words in a couple of songs...hahahahaha was tremendously funny...having to make words up...or just dance to make the gap look good, its made me a bit tense before songs since.

Pauls Blog By Paul on 6/3/2007 8:09 AM
this is my first go at doing this,i haven't bothered before because in truth nothing very exciting really happens in my life (apart from that time the mince pies in asda were buy one get one free!) anyway just got back from ibiza yesterday had a great weeks relaxing holiday with the missus and my little'un obviously i am now looking like a bronzed god (not) anyway our lass did say to me,and i quote "fat looks better suntanned" hows that for a put down!! anyway looking forward to getting together with the lads this week for practice,we've got a song to learn for a wedding we're doing next month (never tear us apart by inxs)actually dont think wayne will be at practice cos he's on nights,so at least me and gibbo wont have to listen to him and mal arguing about who has the best set up!! (personally cant wait to hear wayne's new amp - no offence mal,i think your little amp sounds great!) anyway must go its breakfast time so time for egg, bacon, sausage & MINCE PIE,with plenty of gravy of course

New Gear...tsch
mals blog By mal on 30 May 2007
Don't let Wayne's latest entry fool you into thinking he's actually bought the MESA!! I'll believe it when I see it!! That Orange has been a part of the furniture for god knows how long and he'll cry when it goes!!

Me, well I've been using a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe for the last two and a half years....I've managed to get a good sound when chopping between the 3 guitars I use...must admit like, the Les Paul sounds mint, but then the Fender Japan '72 custom tele re-issue sounds cool too. Don't see many Jap ones around, in fact I haven't seen any, other than mine!!

Wonder how Paul's enjoying Ibiza?? Hope he took a good supply of knotted hankies as well as the required amount of Tindale and Stanton products!!!

oh well, just about to finish work and perhaps I'll get dressed too (I've been in me dressing gown all day gibbo!!!!.....).

Enjoy the rest of your day.....

Neil did a gig last week as 25% of koncept as an acoustic set, and to everyones surprise(even Neils) it went down great,we're proud of him y'knar, first time id heard "acoustic Paranoid" like?!?!,even so Neils very lucky to have us as a band..........or should that be the other way round ...ha ha.

Last but not my any means least, finally got myself a new rig  consisting of a new Les Paul and.....a new amp in the form of a Mesa Engineering Express 5:50 (Rolls Royce of amps) however i have been battling with the moths for about 5 1/2 days now that escaped ...
